Meet #TeamGrit member Lauren O. Lauren can be found destroying workouts at CrossFit 1Force in addition to her vigorous triathlon training. Lauren PR’d her triathlon time in all three categories at the Atlantic City Triathlon only 5 months after giving birth to her second son Ryan. She’s a legit badass and total inspiration. #BadassMomGoals
What is your favorite aspect of The Grit Collective(TGC)?
I don't feel restricted. I've tried eating paleo, and I felt great but I never thought it to be sustainable. I would feel guilty if I had a piece of candy or chips. I love the fact that I can have bread, cheese, and the occasional pasta and still lose weight.
How has TGC changed your attitude/ ideas/feeling around food?
I don't feel guilty about eating certain foods. As long as it fits within the numbers I'm happy.
How has TGC impacted your training?
TGC has helped me understand how to fuel my body before and after workouts. I've never felt stronger and this is 5 months after having my second child.
What challenges did you face throughout the program?
I've learned to enter the food into MFP before eating it, because I made the mistake of not doing it that way. Also, I have trouble eating enough food on the weekends.
What’s the biggest change you’ve noticed( body, mind, gym or other)?
I would say mind & body. Before having kids I struggled with wanting to look skinny, Crossfit has changed that and TGC has changed my view on eating. I often think "I can't believe it's taken me 33 years to learn how to eat", and I'm still learning!
What has been you biggest/ favorite win overall?
My biggest win is feeling like I'm in the best shape of my life. I also recently Pr'd my Triathlon times in all 3 categories.
What is your goal? Has your goal changed? If so, how?
My goal is still to be fitter and stronger. I have definitely made some accomplishments, but I don't want to stop. I want to be able to hit some weight lifting PR's soon! Bring on Test Week!
