This weekend I had a blast competing in my 2nd Strongman comp at Mongrel Strength gym in Elkton, MD. Overall, I didn't do as well as I hoped, but it was a needed gut check. I've been distracted in the gym over the past few weeks allowing stresses from work to creep into my favorite time of the day. I'm excited to move forward, attack my weaknesses and approach training with a renewed focus.
110lb log, 1 clean 2 presses then 65lbs dumbbell:
I wasn't able to press the log and was bummed. The clean felt great but my elbows were dipping in before the jerk. I would have loved to get to the dumbbell because I've been killing those lately.
Woooooo killed that with 14 reps. I was so hype for and after that.
200lbs Ooof this slammed my ankle then whooped my ass. After the plates nailed my ankle it was a struggle.
Keg Carry & Load
I tried to ice my ankle and shake it off but I was beat up from that duck walk. The whole run my ankle just pulsated and I struggled towards the end.
As usual it was inspiring to be around so many amazingly strong women supporting each other and having a killer time.
Congrats to everyone who competed and thanks to all of our supporters, the judges and everyone who helped make this event run smoothly. On to the next, Delaware's Strongest.
